The challenge for this beautiful piece was that Pat was out of the country for the entirety of the process while I was creating her wedding gown. We only had one chance to meet for one fitting when she came home a few months before the event and the next time she would be back would be a few days just before the wedding day, leaving no more room or time for major alterations.

“Flowy and romantic. That was what the bride wanted to wear on her wedding day and I happily obliged.”

first fitting

Temporary basting stitching certain sections before the final machine stitching ensures precision. And before all this, dozens of pins holding the delicate fabric in just the right places before hand basting and tacking.

All basting stitches and tailor’s tacks have to be removed carefully to make sure the fabrics are not snagged.

A light built in structure of boning was sufficient for this gown to enhance the bride’s natural contours and give a flattering smooth shape without sacrificing comfort.
